Charlie Webb WELLS

Charlie Webb WELLS, 80, formerly of Stockport, died Thursday, May 28, 2015, at his home in Zionsville, Indiana, after battling pancreatic cancer.

The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Aaron Helterbran officiating. Burial will be in the Lambirth Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. WELLS was born June 5, 1934, in Birmingham, the son of Esmond and Evangie COLLIER WELLS. He married Janice H. HECKENBERG June 9, 1957.

He graduated from Stockport High School and Parsons College in Fairfield.

He was involved in the insurance claims business for most of his career. For a short time, he owned and operated a cabinet resurfacing business.

Mr. WELLS was always active in his local church, serving as deacon, usher, Awana leader and youth sponsor in various churches.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing and golfing.

Survivors include: his wife, Janice; one son, Michael of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one daughter, Loretta MOECKLY and husband David of Zionsville, Indiana; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, and three brothers.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; and four brothers.
