Gordon C. REYNOLDS

Gordon C. REYNOLDS, 85, of Ollie, died Monday, May 18, 2015, at Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville, Illinois.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fremont Funeral Chapel in Fremont, with the Rev. Frosty Van Voorst officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in Ollie Cemetery (note: in Keokuk Co., IA).

Memorials can be made in Mr. REYNOLDS's name to the Shriners Children's Hospital: Office of Development, Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607 or mailed to PO Box 334, Richland 52585.

Mr. REYNOLDS was born Feb. 25, 1930, in Hedrick, the son of Leo and Mildred KEASLING REYNOLDS. He married Betty June DAVIS Nov. 28, 1948, in the Methodist Church in Ollie. She preceded him in death.

Mr. REYNOLDS graduated from Ollie High School with the Class of 1947.

After their marriage, the REYNOLDSes bought a mobile home and traveled throughout Iowa, Illinois and Nebraska while he worked as a crane operator. They later moved back to Ollie and purchased a farm where they raised their family.

He retired in 1990, sold the farm and purchased a home in Florida where they lived until moving back to Ollie in 1994. He moved to Edwardsville, Illinois, in late 2014.

Mr. REYNOLDS was a 50-year-plus 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, a past master of Justice Lodge No. 230 in Ollie, a Kabba (sic - Kaaba) Shriner and a past patron of the Ollie Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 549. He also was a 67-year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 234 and a board member for South Oak Housing and Fremont Funeral Chapel.

Mr. REYNOLDS had a love for flying. He earned his private pilot's license in 1958 and owned two Piper aircraft in the 1970s. Later, he enjoyed radio-controlled airplanes and was a member of the Ottumwa Radio-Controlled Flyers for several years.

Survivors include: two daughters, Pam REYNOLDS of Ottumwa and Lisa ROBERTS and husband Steve of Richland; one son: Dennis REYNOLDS and wife Kelly of Maryville, Illinois; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry REYNOLDS of Visilica, California; and one sister, ClemmaGene SLOAN of Moline, Illinois.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by: his parents; and one brother, Cloyce REYNOLDS.
