Angela "Angi" Marie Drish Unger, 26, of Batavia died at 10:56 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Visitation Church in Ottumwa, with the Rev. Bernie Weir and the Rev. Michael Phillips concelebrating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Visitation began at 1 p.m. today at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa. A Christian Wake service at 7 p.m. will be followed by family visitation until 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established for a college fund for her daughter.

Mrs. Unger was born April 27, 1978, in Fairfield, the daughter of Michael and Marcia Thornburg Drish. She married Adrien Unger Oct. 16, 1999.

After graduating in 1996 from Fairfield High School, she attended Indian Hills Community College. She was a writer.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Skylar "Nona" Unger, at home; her parents of Batavia; two brothers, Joseph Drish of Des Moines and Thomas Drish and of Fairfield; two sisters, Carla Eakins and Maddy Eakins, both of Des Moines; and grandmother Deliah Thornburg of New London.

She was preceded in death by grandparents Burton Thornburg and Ralph and Wynona Drish.
