Lela E. "Kitty" Hix Strock, 82, formerly of Birmingham, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Behner Funeral Home, followed by a graveside ceremony. Burial will be in the Hix family plot in Evergreen Cemetery.

Following her wishes, the casket will be closed.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the American Lung Association.

Mrs. Strock was born July 21, 1922, in Birmingham, the daughter of William C. and Grace Hendricks. She married Verne E. Hix. She later married Robert D. Strock.

Survivors include her husband of Leawood, Kan.; two sons, James L. Hix and Stephen V. Hix; three grandchildren; and two siblings, William Hendricks and Ellen Hoffman, both of Davenport.
