Marjorie Marie Schiedel, 88, of 301 E. Hempstead Ave., died at 1:50 a.m. today, Aug. 3, 2004, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mike Metz officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Family will not be present.

Memorials can be made to First United Methodist Church and Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary.

Ms. Schiedel was born July 13, 1916, in Center Township in Jefferson County, the daughter of Henry William and Sophie Helen Schlenzen Schiedel.

She lived her life in Jefferson County. After graduating from Fairfield High School in 1935, she attended the Parsons College nine-hour summer school for teaching certification and Parc Vue Beauty College.

She was employed for eight years by Universal Producing Co., taught for four years in Jefferson County rural schools and owned and operated Clip & Curl Beauty Salon for 35 years.

Ms. Schiedel was a member of First United Methodist Church. She also was a member of First National Bank Heritage Club and Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary and a former member of Keep Young Club and Happy Day Club, previously known as Old Neighbor Club.

Survivors include one niece, Christine Schiedel, and one nephew, Donald Schiedel, both of Fairfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Ida Schiedel; and four brothers, Henry, George, Jess and Carl Schiedel.
