Glenn L. Ecklund, 75, of California and formerly of Fairfield, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004, after a brief illness.

A private service and burial at sea were held July 24.

Mr. Ecklund was born May 17, 1929, in Fairfield. He and his wife Rae were married for 46 years.

Reared in Fairfield, he graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in civil engineering.

His 21-year career in the United States Navy included international and California postings. After retirement from the Navy, he was employed by Jacobs Engineering and EBMUD, the California irrigation water supply agency.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Jennifer Ecklund, Julie Ecklund and Jill Weinberg and husband Todd; two grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Ecklund.
