Carol J. SPROTT, 78, of Bloomfield, died Sunday, April 19, 2015, at the Davis Center at Bloomfield (note: in Davis Co., IA).

Funeral arrangements are pending at Murphy Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant.

Carol J. SPROTT, 78, of Bloomfield, died Sunday, April 19, 2015, at the Davis Center in Bloomfield.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hillsboro Cemetery in Hillsboro (note: in Henry Co., IA), with the Rev. Michael Scudder officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.

Ms. SPROTT was born Oct. 19, 1936, in Lockridge, the daughter of Charles "Pete" and Selma BROCKSCHMIDT SPROTT. She married Jim MILLER, and they later divorced. She married Bob WALKER, and they later divorced. She married Robert SLAWSON.

She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1955, and attended Southeastern Community College in West Burlington.

She worked at various jobs retiring in 1989.

Her pastimes included cross stitching, reading, country music, shopping and doing puzzles.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant.

Survivors include: her children, John WALKER and wife Jackie of Clive, Scott MILLER and wife Sherri of Perry and Lorie McMILLEN and husband Mike of Harrison, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; two husbands; and one brother, John L. SPROTT.
