Arthur Leon NELSON

Arthur Leon NELSON was born to Cecil (Pete) NELSON and Martha L. NELSON on April 25, 1938. Leon passed away March 29, 2015, at the Oklahoma State Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His parents preceded him in death.

Leon and his wife Carol Ann were married July 13, 1969 at Merrils Grove Baptist Church in Fiscus, Iowa.

Besides wife Carol, also left behind are sons Mike and wife Donnita, Sean and wife Katharine and their daughters Morgan and Faith and Caleb and wife Jennifer.

Leon was a farmer and also worked at Hy-Vee in Fairfield before officially retiring. Leon and Carol spent 17 winters in south Texas and have many friends here.

There will be a "Celebration of Life" and "Birthday Party" for Leon on his birthday, Saturday April 25, 2015 at the Batavia Community Center from 2-4 pm. Please bring a story to share as this is to be an informal celebration of his life.

All memorials will go to the Jefferson County Health Center and the Fairfield Public Library.
