Julia A. 'Judy' MARTIN

Julia A. "Judy" MARTIN, 79, of Cantril, died at 7:35 a.m. today, Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Bloomfield Care Center in Bloomfield, where she had resided the past year.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Julia A. 'Judy' MARTIN

Julia A. "Judy" MARTIN, 79, of Cantril, died at 7:35 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Bloomfield Care Center in Bloomfield (note: Davis Co., IA) where she had resided the past year.

The funeral is planned at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Cantril United Methodist Church in Cantril, with the Rev. Donna Olinger officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

Visitation will open at 4 p.m. Sunday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the family present 5-7 p.m.

Memorials to Cantril Grass Roots or the Maple Grove Cemetery can be left at the funeral home, church or mailed to the family at 305 W. Poplar, Bloomfield 52537.

Mrs. MARTIN was born Feb. 11, 1936, in Milton, the daughter of Willard "Boney" and Helen BARR BOYD. She married Wilbur D. MARTIN Aug. 16, 1952, in El Paso, Texas. He died Dec. 14, 2001.

She farmed with her husband near Cantril. They moved to town in 1972.

Mrs. MARTIN was a member of Cantril United Methodist Church, Cantril Grass Roots and the Red Hat Society.

Survivors include: one son, Clifford MARTIN and spouse Rhonda NORTHUP of Bloomfield; one daughter, Cheryl MARTIN and spouse Shawn TOTH of Louisville, Kentucky; one stepson, Donald MARTIN and wife Pam of Bloomfield; one stepdaughter, Marlene HOUGLAND and husband David of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother, Charles BOYD of Milton; and special friend, Erlon "Bud" Dufur of Cantril.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: her parents; five brothers, Willard Jr., Russell, Robert, Ted and Ray BOYD; and one daughter-in-law, Diana MARTIN.
