Jeffrey R. McLAIN, 50, of Lockridge, died Sunday, March 29, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.

Jeffrey R. 'Hef' McLAIN

Jeffrey R. "Hef" McLAIN, 50, of Lockridge, died Sunday, March 29, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

The funeral is set for 10:30 a.m. Friday at New Sweden United Methodist Church in rural Lockridge, with the Rev. Dianne Brokken officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends can call after noon on Thursday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, where the family will be present from 5-8 p.m.

Mr. McLAIN was born Dec. 10, 1964, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of John R. and Patsy M. POHREN McLAIN.

He graduated in 1984 from Fairfield High School.

Mr. McLAIN had worked at Lance in West Burlington for seven years.

He lived life to the fullest helping his family and friends whenever in need. His pastimes included hunting, fishing, cars, music and refinishing furniture. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson (sic - Harley-Davidson) motorcycle and caring for his chinchilla.

Mr. McLAIN was a member of the New Sweden United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: two children, Brandy Jo McLAIN and spouse Jesse MEREDITH of Ottumwa, Alisha McELROY and spouse Travis of Fairfield; one grandchild; his parents of Lockridge; and one brother, Chuka McLAIN of Lockridge.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
