Rhonda Lynn MATHEWS

Rhonda Lynn MATHEWS, 59, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Danville, died at her home Friday, March 27, 2015.

Visitation will be held after noon Thursday at Elliott Chapel in New London where the family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Immediately following visitation, the family will leave for Jaggar Cemetery for interment of cremains.

A memorial has been established.

Ms. MATHEWS was born June 13, 1955, in Burlington, the daughter of Raymond Walter and Patricia Ellen WOOD HILLGARTNER.

She was a 1973 graduate of Danville High School.

She was of the Methodist faith.

She enjoyed helping people, flowers and gardening, antiques, crocheting, needlepoint, her dog and her grandson. She also was a upholsterer and a collector of everything.

Survivors include: two children, Nikki DUGGAN MERSCHMAN of New London, and Raymond MATHEWS and wife Lorrie of Centerville; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four sisters, Roberta BENGE of Kansas City, Missouri, Cheryl RICH of Mt. Pleasant, Margaret COLEMAN of Danville, and Sheila BLOMME of Stockport; and two brothers, Morris HILLGARTNER of Lockridge and Rick HILLGARTNER of Harlan.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; and grandparents.
