Grayce C. BAXTER, 83, of Keosauqua, died at 6:57 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua.
In accordance with her wishes, the body has been cremated. Private family burial of cremains will be at a later date in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.
Gifts to a memorial to be designated later by the family can be mailed to PO Box 34, Keosauqua 52565.
Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua is handling the arrangements.
Mrs. BAXTER was born April 25, 1931, in rural Van Buren County, the daughter of Cecil and Hulda ZERHORST LUNSFORD. She married Harold R. BAXTER May 1, 1951, at Milton Methodist Church. He died Nov. 19, 1993.
Mrs. BAXTER grew up in Milton and graduated from Milton High School. She worked as a secretary at the Dennis & Partridge Co. lumberyard in Milton before becoming a certified nursing assistant and working in the obstetrics unit at the hospital.
She was a member of the Milton Christian Church.
She enjoyed knitting, sewing and going to yard sales.
Survivors include: two sons, John BAXTER and spouse Barbara E. BOLEY of Keosauqua and Joseph BAXTER and spouse Dawn of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; one daughter, Susan CAMPBELL of Fayetteville, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
