Floyd R. Clark, 82, of Brighton, died at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, July 18, 2004, at Washington County Hospital and Clinics in Washington.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton, with the Rev. Charles Fladung officiating. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in East Pleasant Plain.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with family present from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials to Heart Fund may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 3265 Elm Ave., Brighton 52540.

Mr. Clark was born Sept. 25, 1921, in State Center, the son of Raymond and Pearl Bence Clark. He married Maryann T. Rex April 4, 1980, in Marshalltown.

After graduating from State Center High School in 1939, he served in the United States Navy during World War II. He owned and operated Cee-Bar-Acres Stable in Hiawatha, and was employed by Nelson Electrical Company in Cedar Rapids until his retirement in 1983. He lived in Arkansas for five years before moving to Brighton in 1988.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Shirley Schaper of State Center, Nancy Warren and husband Mike of Millersburg and Joan Brandt of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Ralph Clark and wife Carol of Cedar Rapids and Gary Lee Clark and wife Mary of Vinton; three stepchildren, Debra Wylie and husband Roger of Machesney Park, Ill., Agnes Beck of East Pleasant Plain and Rex Kepler and wife Leila of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Frances Fromm of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two stepgrandchildren.
