Charlene Lou ELKINS

Charlene Lou ELKINS, 65, of Fairfield, died today, Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

The funeral is planned for 10 a.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Len Maselli officiating. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery in Abingdon.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. ELKINS was born Aug. 24, 1949, in Wapello County, the daughter of Melvin Edgar and Willa Mae JONES GOBBLE.

She worked at Fairfield Glove in Fairfield for 20 years, Parkview Care Center in Fairfield for 3.5 years and Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield for 3.5 years.

Mrs. ELKINS' pastimes included watching Elvis's movies and listening to Elvis's songs, collecting Tweety Bird memorabilia and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include: one daughter, Marsha ELKINS; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Cathy RUBY of Ottumwa, her twin Darlene LANKFORD of Libertyville, and Barb TOPPING of Stockport; one daughter in-law, Bonnie BERNICK; and companion, Rollin Davis of Eldon.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; and one son, Earl ELKINS.
