Janice G. NELSON

Janice G. NELSON, 82 of Davenport and formerly of Fairfield, died Saturday, March 7, 2015, in Davenport.

The funeral is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday, one hour prior to the funeral.

Mrs. NELSON was born Aug. 14, 1932, in Fairfield, the daughter of Nova E. and Ethel J. HINES HARPER. She married Rex E. NELSON Sept. 15, 1950, in Memphis, Missouri. He died Feb. 8, 1987.

Mrs. NELSON grew up in Fairfield and attended Fairfield schools.

She worked at Broadway Bakery, Fairfield Cleaners and the Fairfield Glove Company before moving to Burlington and then to Davenport.

Survivors include: one daughter, Nancy BONAR of Big Pine Key, Florida; two sisters, Janit HARPER WAAGE of Davenport and Judy MELLOTT of Libertyville; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: her parents; one grandson; nine brothers; and five sisters.
