Raymond 'Pete' WHITE

Raymond "Pete" WHITE, 80, passed away December 21st, 2014 in his sleep at his residence in Fountain, Florida. Raymond was born March 13, 1934 to the late Ralph and Wilda WHITE in Iowa City, Iowa. He had been a resident of Florida for just a few years, but spent most of his life in Ottumwa. Ray served in the Air Force from 1951-1955. He was also a member of the American Legion. Ray was joined in marriage to Louise "Geezie" DROZ in 1958 until her death in 1993. Ray later married Peggy DODSON in 2005 until her death in 2009.

Ray was involved in many endeavors throughout the years including farming, auto repair, auto sale, import/export, and most recently, a non-profit 2nd hand store with all proceeds going to St. Jude. Ray was quick to laugh and always lending a helping hand.

Ray is survived by one son, Lawrence WHITE, of Birmingham, and one daughter, Sandra (Andy) KOETTEL of Ottumwa. A step-son, John (Kim) DODSON of Ottumwa and step-daughter Cheryl (Mike) FABULAE of Kansas City, MO, a sister, Toni HOLLADAY of Michigan and sister Wanda LEAR of Florida, several grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

As per Ray's final wishes, his body has been cremated and his remains will be laid to rest next to the love of his life at Memorial Lawn in Fairfield. There will be no memorial service. However, there will be a Celebration Of Life on January 30th from 6-8 pm at the VFW in Fairfield. Please join the family with stories, pictures and memories of Ray's life.
