Charlotte Ann Beemblossom, 70, of Washington, Iowa, died Friday, July 2, 2004, at home.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Richard Boyd officiating. Interment will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.

Visitation began today at the funeral home. Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A general memorial has been established.

Mrs. Beemblossom was born Jan. 30, 1934, in Washington, the daughter of Earnest and Alice Augustine Arnold. She married John Beemblossom July 10, 1951, in Lancaster, Mo.

Mrs. Beemblossom was a lifetime resident of Washington. She attended school in Richland. She was employed at Advance Ross and later at McCleery Cumming Company in Washington. She was a certified nurses aide at nursing homes in Washington and Kalona.

She enjoyed cooking and sewing, especially making wedding gowns and wedding cakes for family and friends. She crocheted, quilted and made many blankets and quilts for her grandchildren. She was an Iowa Hawkeye fan.

Survivors include her husband; five daughters, Carol Allen of Iowa City, Cathy Ulin and husband Doug of Wellman, Jona Dalrymple and husband Craig of Washington, Julie Frieden and husband Dennis of Richmond and Cyndi Arbogast of Washington; one son, J.R. Beemblossom and wife Lia of Washington; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Long of Washington; stepmother Cora Whitehead of Washington; and one half-sister, Darlene Hebling of Mount Pleasant.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter; one son-in-law, Doug Arbogast; one brother, Wayne Arnold; and two sisters, Delores Long and Virginia Arnold.
