Michael Wayne Rowe, 54, of Ottumwa died Friday, July 2, 2004, at VA Medical Center in Iowa City.

The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Robertson-Jay Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with Robert Parcel officiating. Burial will be at Ottumwa Cemetery, with military services by Walter B. Schafer Post 775 Veterans of Foreign War and O.B. Nelson Post 3 American Legion.

Open visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where family visitation will be from 7-8 p.m..

Memorials may be made to the family.

Mr. Rowe was born Jan. 7, 1950, in Stockport, the son of Harold and Ruth Warrington Rowe. He married Mae Kain July 12, 1997, in Ottumwa.

He attended Van Buren community schools. He was an auto mechanic and had served in the United States Army in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Travis Rowe of Agency; one daughter, Randy Rowe of Oskaloosa; two stepsons, Benjamin Babcock and Dakota Babcock of Ottumwa; one granddaughter; two brothers, Larry Rowe of Tiffin and Rick Rowe of Batavia; and four sisters, Vel Brereton of Fairfield, Melva Mapel of Coralville, Barbara Yeager of Kansas City, Kan., and Jana Troendle of Oskaloosa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one stepdaughter; one sister, Susan; and one brother, Keith.
