James F. Mrogenski, 55, of 905 N. 10th St., died Monday, July 5, 2004, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stephen Page and the Rev. William Kaska officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery with military honors.

The Christian Wake Service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with visitation from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Mr. Mrogenski was born Jan. 24, 1949, in Fairfield, the son of Albert F. and Ferne L. Hamilton Mrogenski.

He was a lifelong resident of Fairfield. After graduating from Fairfield High School in 1967, he served in the United States Air Force from 1967-1971 and served in Vietnam.

He was employed as an airtool grinder for 22 years at Iowa Malleable Iron Company and later at Fairfield Aluminum Company.

Mr. Mrogenski was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, VFW, American Legion and the American Rifleman Association.

Survivors include one sister, Peggy Philips and husband Larry of Fairfield; one brother, Tom Mrogenski and wife Diana of Greeley, Colo.; and longtime friend Robyn Rippey.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Liz Martin.
