Mary Jeanne ERICKSON

Mary Jeanne ERICKSON, 83, of Fairfield, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City surrounded by her family.

The funeral is set for 11:00 a.m. Dec. 30 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Nick Adam officiating. Interment will be at 1 p.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield and again one hour prior to the funeral Dec. 30 at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Fairfield Public Library or St. Mary Catholic Church. Online condolences can be viewed at www.raymondfuneralhomes.com.

Mrs. ERICKSON was born July 18, 1931, at Storm Lake, the daughter of Henry and Josephine MERNIN BURNS. She married Kenneth R. ERICKSON May 15, 1954, at Storm Lake.

She graduated from St. Mary's High School at Storm Lake in 1950 and from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Sioux City in 1953.

Mrs. ERICKSON was a registered nurse and had worked in Fort Dodge, Las Cruces, New Mexico, Boone, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Jefferson County Hospital and was the Fairfield school district school nurse from 1972 until 1992.

Mrs. ERICKSON was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Retired School Personnel, bridge clubs, Fairfield Women's Club, St. Mary Altar & Rosary, P.E.O., coffee clubs and Home Health Aide Board.

Survivors include: her husband Ken; three sons, Steven Ray ERICKSON and wife Carolyn of Redmond, Washington; David Jay ERICKSON and wife Marla of Cedar Rapids and Michael ERICKSON and wife Jennifer of Elizabethtown, Pensylvania (sic); one daughtger, Mary Beth ERICKSON of Fairfield; four grandchildren; and one sister, Carol Ann BURNS of Cypress, California.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; and one brother, Robert Irwin BURNS.
