Marvin Roy Mounts Sr., 76, of Birmingham died Friday, June 11, 2004, at his home.

A memorial service will he held at Lamb's Funeral Home in Gibson City, Ill., with burial in Riverside Cemetery at Saybrook, Ill.

Memorials may be made to the family and mailed to 2364 270th St., Birmingham 52535.

Raymond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Mounts was born July 30, 1927, at Salem, Ind., the son of Richard Roy and Eulah L. Purlee Mounts. He married Rosie L. Shubert Oct. 3, 1946, at Lafayette, Ind.

He attended school in Boswell, Ind. He was a mill operator and truck driver. He served as a machinist mate in the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater of Operations.

He and his wife lived their entire married life in Gibson City until moving to their home northeast of Birmingham 15 years ago.

Survivors include his wife; five children, Michael Mounts and wife Sharon of Gibson City, Judy Wilson and husband Duane of Harrisburg, Ill., Janet Hilgendorf of Gibson City, Marvin R. Mounts Jr. of Boswell, and Patricia Walker and husband Stephen of Gibson City; 16 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
