Wade H. COOP Taken In Death

Wade H. COOP, 80, Fairfield Route 2, died Sunday at 2 a.m. at the Jefferson County hospital where he had been a patient since Nov. 12.

COOP was a rancher in Montana for many years. He had been in failing health for the past year.

Services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Hoskins Funeral home in charge of the Rov. Robert Folkert. The body will be shipped to the Smith Funeral home in Billings, Mont., where services will be held Friday. Burial will be at Huntley, Mont.

COOP was born June 14, 1878 at Allerton, the son of Jefferson S. and Mary E. FUNSTON COOP. He was reared and educated in this county. He was married to Emily CARLSON Nov. 11, 1905. She preceded him in death Dec. 13, 1951. On Sept,. 29, 1952, he was married to May GILBERT.

COOP went to Huntley as a homesteader in 1908. He also operated a cattle ranch at Absarokee, remaining in Montana until 1947. He was a member of the IOOF lodge at Perlee and was associated with the Antioch church.

Surviving are wife and the following children: Mrs. Tom MARTIN, Fishtail, Mont.; Mrs. Fred GRISHAM, Mrs. Merrill PRICE and Douglas COOP, all of Billings, Mont.

Other survivors include: 11 grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren; one brother, Glen COOP, Billings, Mont.; one sister, Mrs. Hazel NELSON, Everette, Wash.; and 3 step children, Mrs. Herbert CALHOUN, Oskaloosa, Paul GILBERT and Mrs. Warren PECH, both of Fairfield. Seven step grandchildren also survive.
