Roger Robert Richard, 76, of 304 E. Fillmore Ave. died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at home.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Howard Innis officiating. Burial will be in Eicher Cemetery in Noble.

Family visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to Eagles Club 1927 in Fairfield or to the donor's choice.

Mr. Richard was born Nov. 6, 1927, in Wayland, the son of David F. and Ruth M. Frey Richard. He married Phylis Elaine Tschantz June 6, 1948, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

Mr. Richard lived in the Fairfield community for 47 years. He worked for Jefferson County Road Maintenance for 20 years as a maintainer.

He was a member and past president of Eagles Club 1927. He also was a member of the Old Threshers with gas engines and the Early Birds, a coffee club that met at Hy-Vee Food Store.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Cynthia Nixon and husband Bruce of Davenport and Kimberly Richard of Fairfield; one son, Michael Richard and wife Fen of Rock Island, Ill.; and five grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Hazel Reschly and Wilma Westen.
