Edwin Clark STANTON, 60, of rural Stockport, died Monday evening Nov. 18, 2014. at his home.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Edwin Clark 'Big Ed' STANTON

Edwin Clark "Big Ed" STANTON, 60, of rural Stockport, died Monday evening, Nov. 17, 2014, at his home.

A private family service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with Larry Shipley officiating. Cremation will follow the service, with private burial of cremains at a later date.

Visitation, open to the public, will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday, with the family present from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials to Serve Outdoors can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 26333 170th St., Stockport 52651.

Mr. STANTON was born May 26, 1954, in Maryville, Missouri, the son of Warren C. and Sue SHARP STANTON. He married Kathie HAGANMAN Dec. 31, 1985, in Memphis, Missouri.

Mr. STANTON lived most of his adult life in Van Buren County. He graduated from Harmony High School in 1972, and then attended Iowa Western Community College in Clarinda for two years before starting his 40-year career at Riverside Plastics in Bonaparte where he was a shift supervisor.

He was passionate about the Serve Outdoors organization, for which he was a donor. He was a countywide supporter of several organizations. He enjoyed attending gun and knife shows and was an avid collector of knives.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Asa STANTON and wife Andrea of Warner Robins, Georgia; one stepson, Heath TEETER of Bonaparte; one sister, Spark WELLMAN of Bonaparte; and one brother, Jonathan STANTON of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jodee STANTON; and one brother, Walt STANTON.
