MRS. HENRY OLIVER DIED ON SUNDAY

The community was greatly grieved when it became known that Mrs. Henry A. OLIVER had suddenly passed away at 11 a.m. Sunday at her home at 106 West Lowe street.

Her death is particulsrly (sic) sad from the fact that she leaves motherless a little two weeks old daughter besides three other small children John Kurtz, age 12 years, Mary Agnes age 10, and Florence Grace aged 8 years. One little son Henry A. Jr. proceeded (sic) his mother in death on March 8th, 1913 (sic - 1912). She had apparently been getting along nicely and was planning on eating dinner with her family for the first time since her illness when she was fatally stricken.

Agnes KURTZ OLIVER was the daughter of John and Caroline KURTZ and was born near Germanville on Feb. 25, 1881. Her parents passed away when she was a small child. On Nov. 17th, 1902 at Washington, Iowa she was united in marriage to Henry A. OLIVER who is left to mourn her loss. She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Joseph and John of Germanville, Phillip of Geary, Okla., Peter and Frank of Pleasant Plain, Anthony of Fairfield, Mrs. Elizabeth FRITZ of West Burlington, Mrs. Mary KESSELL of Pleasant Plain and Mrs. Teresa MANNHARDT of Washington.

Mrs. OLIVER was one of the faithful members of St. Mary's Catholic church and was a christian woman of many noble qualities. She was a devoted mother and wife and she will be greatly missed in her home. She was a member of the Degree of Honor Lodge and of the Woodmen Circle of Mt. Pleasant. Many friends will extend their sympathy to the sorrowing family.

The funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday from St. Mary's church in charge of Rev. H. J. Hogan and the remains were laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery.

Not related to the subject. Transcribed for informational purposes only.

Note: Buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, in Lot Old.P.323. Husband Henry remarried to Virginia ROTH and died some 20 years later, in 1936. He is buried in Evergreen with Agnes.
