John KURTZ, Sr., a resident of Walnut township, this county, for well nigh half a century, died at his home on Thursday, after an illness of several weeks from lagrippe and complications. Deceased had been in ill health for several years. He was a native of Germany, and was one of the best known of the members of the German colony in the northeastern portion of this county. He leaves a family of 12 children, six sons and six daughters, three of whom are married. His wife died about a year ago. Mr. KURTZ was about 60 years of age.
