Karen Marie Shultheiss, 46, of Kirksville, Mo. and formerly of Fairfield, died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at her home.

Funeral services were held today at the Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with the Rev. Bill Kottenstette officiating. Burial was at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Paige Shultheiss Education Fund can be left at or mailed to the Travis-Noe Funeral Home, PO Box 306, Kirksville, Mo. 63501.

Mrs. Shultheiss was born March 19, 1958, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Gerald and Pauline Greufe Wadle. She married Dennis Shultheiss Oct. 2, 1982, in Kirksville.

Reared in Fairfield, she was a 1976 graduate of Fairfield High School. She attended Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville from 1977 to 1981.

After three years with R&R Western Wear, she was employed by Collins Rentals until 1994.

She was a homemaker and farm assistant with livestock.

Her favorite activities included riding horses and four-wheelers, reading and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Shultheiss was a member of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church and El Kadir Shrine Jewels in Kirksville.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Paige Shultheiss, living at home; her parents of Indianola, Ind.; one brother, Bill Wadle and wife Kella of Ackworth; and three sisters, Lynn Allen and husband Craig of Bettendorf, Janet Hackney and husband Dave of Minneapolis, Minn., and Rita Bartlett and husband Todd of Eldon, Mo.
