Ruth DENNEY, 92, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, at SunnyBrook Living Care Center in Fairfield.
Per her wishes, the body has been cremated. A private family memorial service and burial of cremains at Batavia Cemetery in Batavia will be held at a later date.

Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield helped the family with arrangements.
Mrs. DENNEY was born Aug. 11, 1922, in Keosauqua, the daughter of William and Bertha STINE COOKSEY. She married Clarence DENNEY July 22, 1938, in Memphis, Missouri. He died Nov. 1, 2013.
Mrs. DENNEY worked at Jefferson County Hospital in housekeeping and later became a certified nurses aid (sic). One of her dreams was to become a registered nurse; which she had seen fulfilled in the lives of her granddaughter and great-granddaughter.
Mrs. DENNEY attended Faith Baptist Church.
She loved spending time with family and friends, and she enjoyed reading, going for drives and embroidering.
Survivors include: three daughters, Carolyn BLACK of Dallas Center, Brenda EVERETT and husband Earl of Brighton, Pat POOLE and husband B.R. of Stockport; one son, David DENNEY and wife Vera of Stockport; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Raymond, Merrill and W. Lyle COOKSEY; two sisters, Amy DOUGHERTY and Marcene GILL; one son-in-law; and one great-grandson in infancy.
