Ms. CARTER was born Dec. 12, 1969, in Washington state, the daughter of Galen and Evelyn CLINEBELL SCHWOCHOW. She was engaged to marry Brent LEWMAN.

She attended elementary at the Lakota Local Schools in Kansas, Ohio, before graduating with honors in 1987 from Vanguard Vocational School in Fremont, Ohio.

In 1990, she moved to Iowa, where she lived for a brief time in Agency and Eldon before calling Batavia home.

While in Iowa, she met Brent LEWMAN. They had been together for more than 15 years and were engaged to be married.

She built her life around her fiance and the rest of her family. She enjoyed every holiday because it meant more time to be around those she loved. She put the needs of others before her own, and she had a zest for life that she shared with family and friends.

She worked in management at Pizza Hut in Fairfield.

She loved to read books, take walks and attend the State Line Motorcycle Rally.

Survivors include: her parents, Galen and Evelyn SCHWOCHOW of Greenfield; her fiance Brent LEWMAN of Batavia; two children, Christina and Joseph; two brothers, Gavin SCHWOCHOW of Batavia and Andy SCHWOCHOW of Greenfield; one sister, Ardis DYE of North English; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
