May 21, 2004Edmund E. "Butch" Lowe, 58, of Brighton died at 7:35 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton, with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. Burial at Hillcrest Cemetery will follow cremation.
The family will greet friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
A general memorial has been established.
Mr. Lowe was born Nov. 14, 1945, in Fairfield, the son of Raleigh M. and Gladys M. Hesseltine Lowe. He married Rhoda Reighard Campbell Dec. 18, 1982, in Washington, Iowa.
Mr. Lowe grew up in Brighton and graduated from Washington High School in Washington in 1964.
He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
He worked at Modine Manufacturing Company in Washington for 30 years.
Mr. Lowe also played lead guitar and sang in several country and western bands, including Stampede.
Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, Robert Campbell of Waukesha, Wis., and Rick Campbell of Iowa City; two stepgrandchildren; his mother of Washington; two sisters, Carol Rathmell of Mesa, Ariz., and Judy Donaldson of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his father.
