Naomi G. Curtis Hutton
May 18, 2004Naomi G. Curtis Hutton, 92, of North Royalton, Ohio, and formerly of Batavia, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, in Ohio.
Mrs. Hutton will be inurned with her husband, William Hutton, in Batavia Cemetery following an inurnment ceremony at 11 a.m. May 25, with the Rev. Thom Raphael-Nakos officiating.
Mrs. Hutton was born in 1911 in rural Batavia, and raised by her mother Ada Curtis after her father died. She married William Hutton in 1932 in Batavia. He died in 1972.
Mrs. Hutton graduated from Batavia High School as valedictorian. After Hutton received his bachelors degree in engineering science, the couple moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where they raised their family of three children.
She was active in her North Royalton community as a 16-year member of the school board and a leader in the Methodist church. She was on the building committees for the church and numerous schools erected from 1952-1967. She was honored as Church Woman of the Year.
Survivors include her sister, Bertha McNiel of Sylvian Wood in Ottumwa; two daughters, Leona Domino of Ohio and Claudia Van de Ven of California; one son, Rex Hutton of California; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
Her husband and parents preceded her in death.
