Billy Joe Ehret, 53, of Libertyville died at 4:15 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2004, at his home.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Albert and the Rev. Rich Fiedler officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Family visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family requests memorials to Hospice of Ottumwa.

Mr. Ehret was born June 4, 1950, in Eldon, the son of Abraham and Mildred Carlton Ehret. He married Robbin Bradley June 4, 1994, in Eldon.

A Libertyville community member since 1993, he attended Eldon Congregational Church in Eldon. He was an employee of Iowa Malleable and The Dexter Company.

Ehret served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict.

His hobbies were hunting and fishing. He was a member of the North American Hunting Club.

Survivors include his wife; his mother of Eldon; three stepsons, Mitch Elder of Kansas, Chris Elder of Eldon and Jimmy Elder of Eldon; four brothers, Al Ehret of Fairfield, Mike Ehret of Eldon, Robert Ehret of Eldon and Jack Ehret of Eldon; and one sister, Cathy Fiedler and husband Rick of Agency.

He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Cheryl Hanson; and one stepson, Tony Elder.
