Joan M. SHACKELFORD, 58, of Ottumwa, died Friday, Aug. 15 at Good Samaritan Society in Ottumwa. Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds.

Joan SHACKELFORD

Joan Marlene SHACKELFORD, 58, of Ottumwa died at 8:50 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Ottumwa.

The funeral was planned for 10 a.m. today at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Burial was in Sixteen Cemetery near Thornburg (note: in Keokuk Co., IA).

Memorials to Tenco Industries can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 19050 Route V-64, Douds 52551.

Ms. SHACKELFORD was born July 9, 1956, at home near Thornburg, the daughter of Louis and Pearl MARTIN SHACKELFORD.

She grew up in What Cheer and lived in Delta until 1979 when she moved to Ottumwa. She had begun attending Tenco in Ottumwa in 1975.

Ms. SHACKELFORD had loved her family and her Tenco family. She enjoyed listening to country music and attending country music shows at the Wapello County Fair in Eldon. She also enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs play baseball and had attended some Cubs vs. St. Louis Cardinals games. She also loved the Iowa Hawkeyes.

She attended camp most summers.

Survivors include: one brother, Max SHACKELFORD of Douds; one sister, Linda CONGER of Ollie; and specual friend Junior Dillenback of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Marlys SHACKELFORD.
