Ronald E. STOLTZ, age 78 of 701 West Harrison ave., Fairfield died at his home Friday, August 15, 2014.
Ron was born April 30, 1936 at Mallard, Iowa, the son of Clyde H. and Velma L. WELLER STOLTZ.
He married Karen HOUGE on January 25, 1958 at the Estherville Lutheran Church.
Ron had lived in Curlew, Iowa and graduated from Ayreshire High School in 1955.
They have lived in Fairfield since 1973.
He grew up on a farm and for most of his life he worked in the farming industry. For the last several years he was self employed at K & R Sales and Service. He truly enjoyed his work and thought highly of his customers.
Ron enjoyed sports and played basketball, baseball and ran track while he was in high school. He enjoyed reading and socializing. Ron never met a stranger. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Fairfield.
Deceased family members include his parents and 2 nieces.
Surviving are his wife Karen, 6 daughters: Debbi (Chris) DAVIS of Libertyville; Cindy STOLTZ of Fairfield; Kathy (Mike) PETERS of Front Royal, VA; Ronda (Kent) WHITNEY; Jodi (Phil) STOLTZ and Jamie (Gary) STOLTZ, all of Fairfield;
Grandchildren: Christie (Alex) KESSEL, Terri (Aaron) KNESS, Joshua (Jenny) KURTZ, Dustin KURTZ, Joey HORAK, Chad DAVIS, Cassie HORAK, Corbin HARWOOD, Jordan WHITNEY, Mackenzi HARWOOD, Monica STOLTZ, Nathan WHITNEY, Charlie KLETT;
Great grandchildren: Xavier & Vanessa KESSEL; Rowan and Ryder KNESS;
Three brothers Jerry STOLTZ of Donnellson, IA and Keith STOLTZ of Hartley, IA, Stanley STOLTZ and his sister Jeanette DUFF of Boone, IA.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield with Pastor Bob Spilger officiating.
Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Memorials have been established to the Hospice of Washington County and to the Greater Jefferson County Pool, Gym Project.
Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
