C. BISHOP dies in Arizona

Charles BISHOP, 83, Glasgow, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Mesa Lutheran Hospital in Mesa, Ariz., where he had been a patient since Jan. 8. His winter home was at Apache Junction, Ariz.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Raymond Funeral Home with Ron Bower officiating. Burial will be in Glasgow Cemetery at Glasgow. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to Glasgow Cemetery and the Lockridge Senior Citizens Center.

BISHOP was born Oct. 15, 1904 at Libertyville, the son of Salvester(sic - Sylvester) Burk and Emma Jane HEALD BISHOP. He farmed in the Glasgow community until he was 71. He continued to live on the farm and spend the winters in Arizona. He married Opal Louise BOWER of Glasgow Sept. 19, 1931 in Milan, Mo. She died Dec. 3, 1974.

Surviving are a son, Roxie of Clinton, Ill.; a brother, Sherman of Fairfield; a sister, Margaret JENSEN of Woodburn, Ore.; nieces and nephews.
