Beverly J. WINTERS

Beverly J. WINTERS, 73, of East Moline, Ill., and formerly of Colona, Ill., died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at Illini Hospital at Silvis, Ill.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Family Funeral Services in Colona. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grandchildren's Education Fund.

Born June 22, 1927 in Fairfield, she was the daughter of Robert and Eva REED BARBER. She married Howard F. WINTERS in Fairfield on Nov. 4, 1946. He preceded her in death June 23, 1981.

She retired in 1979 from Rock Island Lines in Silvis, where she was an assembler in the signal department. Previously, she was a meatpacker at Geifman's in East Moline. Hobbies included swimming, camping and garage sales.

She is survived by a son, Randy, of Colona; two sisters, Shirley BRADLEY of Libertyville and Ila THOMAS of Florida; a brother, Leo BARBER of Keosauqua; and two grandchildren.
