John E. BAKER Jr.

The service for John E. BAKER, Jr., 82, 903 W. Stone Ave., who died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 1993, at the Madrid Home in Madrid, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Dave L. Humble officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Madrid Home.

BAKER was born April 1, 1910, in Abingdon, the son of John E. and Mary HUPP BAKER. He married Hazel M. FINGER on May 23, 1931, in Fairfield. A resident of the Fairfield community for most of his life, he moved to the Madrid Home in December 1992. He was a coremaker for Iowa Malleable Co. for 45 years.

Surviving are his wife of Madrid; three sons, Ronald E. of Denver, Colo., Maynard L. of Puyallup, Wash., Norlyn D. of Des Moines; a daughter, Esther B. SMITH of Tupelo, Miss.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Raymond and Harry, preceded him in death.
