Marlene L. STAGE, 79, of Birmingham died at 10:40 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
The body has been cremated. A memorial service is planned at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Mark Brase officiating. Interment of cremains will be at a later date in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.
Visitation with family will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church prior to the service.
Memorials to Maple Hill Cemetery can be left at the church or mailed to the family at 21099 Highway 16, Birmingham 52535.
Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua is handling the arrangements.
Mrs. STAGE was born May 23, 1935, in Belleville, Michigan, the daughter of Theodore B. and Wanda L. SZYDLOWSKI PONIATOWSKI. She married David B. STAGE June 18, 1955, in Belleville. He died Dec. 11, 2008.
Mrs. STAGE grew up in Belleville and graduated from Belleview High School. Shortly after her marriage, she and her husband moved to Nevada where she worked in the gaming business. They moved to Fairfield in 1974 and worked in retail.
Before retiring to Birmingham in 2004, Mrs. STAGE and her husband traveled the United States inspecting fiber optics.
She was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Keosauqua.
Survivors include: one daughter, Susan MADDIX and husband Randy of rural Birmingham; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
