Jackie Barbara BARKER

Jackie Barbara BARKER, 58, of Batavia, formerly of Toddville, Iowa, died Monday, July 21, 2014, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha.

Services: 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, conducted by Gloria Clinton. Family will greet friends from 2 until service time.

Survivors include her husband, John Rex BARKER of Batavia, Iowa; mother, Mabel VELAND; children, Dawn (Ibrahim) KOUSHEH of Cedar Rapids, Kevin KNEPPER and Cody KNEPPER (Jen Bjerkaas) all of Anamosa, Iowa; step-children, Larry (Ida Mae) BARKER of Center Point, Iowa, Gloria Clinton and J.B. BARKER all of Cedar Rapids; siblings, Judy PARKER (Steve Kohl) of Lisbon, Iowa, Connie (Edward) REBER of Rapid City, South Dakota, Nels (Fran) VELAND of Yorktown, Virginia, Pam MOYLE of Apache Junction, Arizona, and Norman (Gwen) VELAND Appleton, Minnesota; grandchildren, Hannah, Aliyah, Kelsey, Kiley, Aiden, Johnny, Josh, Dawn, Lindsay, Jamie and Brad; and numerous nephews, nieces and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Jackie was born on November 19, 1955, in Ellendale, North Dakota, daughter of Norman and Mabel (OTTERSTETTER) VELAND. She was a devoted mother and wife whose lifelong career was her family. Jackie loved cooking, fishing, gardening, hunting and spending time with her grandchildren.
