Raymond L. 'Bud' HEMM

Raymond L. "Bud" HEMM, 86, of Keosauqua, died Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Iowa Methodist Health Center in Des Moines.

A funeral is at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with an elder from his church officiating. Burial will be in Fellows Cemetery in Keosauqua.

Visitation opened at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home, with family present from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials to the family may be left at the funeral home or mailed to PO Box 332, Keosauqua 52565.

Mr. HEMM was born Jan. 11, 1928, near Troy, the son of Orville and Lela ARCHER HEMM. He married Edith A. NIXON June 18, 1955, near Bentonsport. She died July 11, 1998. He married Linda M. MULHOLLAND Dec. 19, 1998, in Keosauqua. She died May 29, 2009.

He had worked at Barker Wire and worked many years as custodian at Van Buren Community School, both in Keosauqua.

He was a member on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fairfield.

Survivors include two daughters, Merian HARRIS of Keosauqua and Marvena SCHACHTNER of Richland; four sons, Raymond Orlie, James and Orville HEMM of Keosauqua and Jess HEMM of Des Moines; one stepdaughter, Sarah SNELLING of Keosauqua; one stepson, Daniel ERWINE of Urbana, Illinois; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and one step-great-granddaughter.

In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Erma HEMM, Patricia HUFFMAN and Ruth McVEY; and an infant brother, Adrian HEMM.
