Earl 'Gene' Eugene CUBBAGE

Earl "Gene" Eugene CUBBAGE, 93, of Batavia, died Sunday, June 29, 2014, at SunnyBrook Living Care Center in Fairfield.

A funeral is at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Elizabeth Bell officiating. Burial will be at Fell Cemetery in Libertyville.

Visitation for family and friends is 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to Hospice Compassus, Fell Cemetery, or Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville.

Cards and memorials can be sent to 2666 Cedar Ave., Batavia 52533.

Mr. CUBBAGE was born Sept. 1, 1920, in Libertyville, the son of Ruben James and Cora Elmina BROWN CUBBAGE. He married L. Ruth TENSING Aug. 27, 1944, in Bloomfield. She died April 20, 1988.

Mr. CUBBAGE worked as a machinist at Rockwell International for 26 years and farmed all his life.

He was on the Fell Cemetery Board and belonged to the McDonalds Coffee Club.

He loved spending time with his family, and friends.

He loved to farm and work with his cattle. His dogs and cats were great company while he worked outside.

Survivors include two children, Earla Jean TEDROW and husband Glenn of Fairfield, and Jim CUBBAGE and wife Pam of Batavia; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Violet HYDE of Tennessee.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parens; five brothers, Leonard, Richard, Harold, Charlie and Robert CUBBAGE; three sisters, Mary CLOKE, Lucille TEDROW, Irene ADAMS; and special friend, Helen Billhymer.
