Harold E. Muntz, 84, of Farmington died at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Farmington United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Catie Newman officiating. Burial will be in Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington.

The family will receive friends rom 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, prior to the funeral.

Memorials to Farmington Emergency Medical Service may be left at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua or Farmington United Methodist Church. Memorials also can be mailed to the family at PO Box 574, Farmington 52626.

Mr. Muntz was born Aug. 24, 1919, near Farmington, the son of Frank E. and Zoe Swift Muntz. He married Frances D. DeRosear June 28, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo.

He was a life-long resident of the Farmington area, where he entertained with songs, humor and guitar music and participated many years in the Farmington Jamboree.

He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Wayne Muntz and wife Ann of Memphis, Mo., and Ron Muntz and wife Betty of Tecumseh, Mich.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Keith Muntz of Farmington; two sisters, Elouise Syfert of Keosauqua and Louise Rider of Farmington; and one half-sister, Elsie Bowers of Oklahoma City, Okla.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Elwin Muntz; one half-brother, Kenneth Muntz; and one grandson.
