Steve A. SAYRE

Steve A. SAYRE 57, of rural Keosauqua, died at 10:45 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2014, at home.

A memorial service is at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Kevin Mote officiating. Burial of cremains will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the former bath house in Lacey-Keosauqua State Park following the interment.

Memorials to the local chapter of Serve Outdoors may be left at the funeral home, or the reception or mailed to the family at 12895 Hickory Ave., Birmingham 52535.

Mr. SAYRE was born Oct. 15, 1956, in Keosauqua, the son of David and Marjorie CROWE SAYRE. He married Nancy RIDGEWAY. They divorced.

He graduated from Van Buren High School.

He was a farmer, a self-employed electrician and worked at Golden Furrow Fertilizer in Keosauqua.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and gathering with friends.

Survivors include three daughters, Trina SAYRE of Keosauqua, Tonya FLYNN and spouse Chris of Birmingham and Traci DOAK and spouse Phil of Clive; eight grandchildren; his father; and one sister, Rita TEDROW.

He was preceded in death by his mother.
