Michael Stephen PEIFFER

Michael Stephen PEIFFER, 49, of Lockridge died Thursday morning, Sept. 28, 2000, in West Point.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Jane Rymut and the Rev. Ed Newman officiating. Burial will be in Lockridge Cemetery.

Family visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lockridge Emergency Response.

Mr. PEIFFER was born Feb. 13, 1951, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Herb and Doris Jean DUTTWEILER PEIFFER. He married Debra BURNHAM Nov. 10, 1978, in Lockridge.

He lived in the Lockridge-Fairfield area 32 years. A bus driver for Fairfield school system for years, Mr. PEIFFER had recently started driving a semi for Big Cedar Contracting.

He was a Lockridge city council member, assistant fire chief, a member of Lockridge First Responders and served on the First Augustana Lutheran Church council.

Survivors include his mother of Fairfield; his wife of Lockridge; one son, Ronald N. PEIFFER of Lockridge; one daughter, Amanda K. PEIFFER of Lockridge; one granddaughter; one sister, Donna KAUFMAN of Wayland; and one brother, Anthony PEIFFER of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Robert PEIFFER and both sets of grandparents.
