Marie SWENSON

Marie SWENSON, 92, 602 S. Second St., Fairfield, died at 4:35 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2004 at Jefferson County Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Marvin Robeck officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends may call at their convenience Monday at Raymond Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established in Mrs. SWENSON's name to First Lutheran Church.

Mrs. SWENSON was born Oct. 1, 1911, at Salina, the daughter of Elvin and Maude LARSON HOLLANDER. She married Oscar Frederick SWENSON June 28, 1947, in Rock Island, Ill. He died Oct. 28, 2002.

Mrs. SWENSON grew up in the Salina-Fairfield community and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1929.

She and her husband lived in Rock Island from 1947 until they moved to Cedar Rapids in 1955. They moved to Fairfield in 1979.

Mrs. SWENSON was a homemaker.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church, as well as the church circle.

Survivors include one son, David SWENSON and wife Loria of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Lucille EMMACK of Fairfield and Dorothy QUACKENBUSH of Solvang, Calif.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Claire HOLLANDER; and one sister, Margaret DIERS.
