Steven John "Hime" Logan, 56, of Spring Hill, Fla., and formerly of Mount Pleasant, died Thursday, April 15, 2004, at St. Luke Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. today at Pine Crest Funeral Chapel in Spring Hill, with the Rev. Charles Williams officiating.

A graveside service, with full military honors conducted by the veterans organizations of Henry County, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, officiated by the Rev. Edward R. Peterson.

Visitation will be held prior to the burial, from 9-11 a.m. Friday at Weir & Kimzey Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.

Logan was born Sept. 22, 1947, in Fairfield, the son of Lawrence and Betty Jane Coleson Logan. He married Nancy Charlene Kerr March 17, 1969, in Galesburg, Ill.

He was raised in the Fairfield and Burlington areas. He served in the 2nd Squadron, 1st Armored Cavalry, U.S. Army, from 1966 to 1968 in Vietnam.

He was employed as a transportation driver at the Wal-Mart distribution centers in Mount Pleasant and Brooksville for 18 years.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Steffanie Wickham of Spring Hill; one son, Gerald Kimble of Mount Pleasant; two grandchildren; his mother of Mount Pleasant; one sister, Jean Martin of Mount Pleasant; and one sister-in-law, Jane Logan, also of Mount Pleasant.

He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Stacey Logan; and his grandparents.
