Page 8, Column 2Funeral Monday For Mrs. HENRY
Mrs. A. W. HENRY, long-time resident of Jefferson county, passed away at 9 p.m. last night at the Ottumwa hospital where she had been a patient since January 26. She had been in failing health for some time.
The body is at the Raymond funeral home where last rites will be held at 10 a.m. Monday with the Rev. O. F. DeCoursey in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at the Raymond funeral home at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Katherine HENRY, 77, was born May 7, 1881 at Harper, Iowa, the daughter of the later Peter and Mary KAUFFMAN LAHR. She was reared and educated in Harper, Iowa, and in the Keosauqua community.
She was united in marriage on Jan. 24, 1905, at Corning, Iowa, to A. W. HENRY. They lived in Keokuk county for 11 years before moving to their farm northeast of Fairfield 43 years ago. The family farm is on route 2.
Mrs. HENRY was a member of the St. Mary Catholic church and the Altar and Rosary Society.
Besides her husband she is survived by the following children: Clarence HENRY, St. Louis; George HENRY, Chicago; Mrs. Eugene (Beatrice) KASKA, Fairfield; and Mrs. Clem (Katherine) EAGLE, Washington.
She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. John GREINER, Keota; and Mrs. Margaret EVERHART, East Pleasant Plain; and two brothers, Fred LAHR, Denton, Mont.; and A. J. LAHR, Washington. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
