Lenore L. MOORE

Lenore L. MOORE, 92, of Fairfield died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000, at Parkview Care Center.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Raymond Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Open visitation will be held today. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. MOORE was born April 16, 1908, near Packwood in Jefferson County, the daughter of Amos and Eva McVEY RUGGLES. She married Joseph N. MOORE Feb. 23, 1938, in Bethany, Mo. He is deceased.

She was raised and educated in Packwood and graduated from Packwood High School in 1926. She received her nurse's training at the hospital in Ottumwa. She worked in nursing homes in Oskaloosa, Ottumwa and Fairfield and was an licensed practical nurse for the Jefferson County and Ottumwa hospitals for 25 years until her retirement.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she also was a member of United Methodist Women and Sarah Circle.

Survivors include one stepson, Loren MOORE of Washington, Iowa; one stepdaughter, Mabel DOWNING of Avenal, Calif.; eight stepgrandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great-grandson.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Donnal MOORE; one stepson, Elmer MOORE; three sisters, Benice McMILLAN, Iris WELLS and Ora CARBAURCH; four brothers, John, Bill, Jim and Roquel "Cecil" RUGGLES; and one step-granddaughter.

Admin. note: Lenore was Joseph's second wife; his first was Myrtle BAKER. Lenore is buried in Lot Devotion B 39 - space 3. Husband Joseph died in 1973 and is beside her in space 2.
