Donald C. METZ

Donald C. METZ, 69, OF 1011 E. Broadway Ave., died at 3:20 a.m. Sunday, March 14, 1993, at Jefferson County Hospital.

He was born Oct. 18, 1923, in Round Prairie Township in Jefferson County, the son of Chester E. and Rosa B. WATSON METZ. He married Lois R. DAILEY on June 1, 1946, in the First Christian Church parsonage.

METZ graduated from Lockridge High School in 1943. He was a farmer for 25 years in Round Prairie Township and was an insurance adjuster for 21 years for the Jefferson County Mutual Insurance Company.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, served for a term on the board for the Senior Citizen Center, was on the Jefferson County Mutual Insurance Company Board of Directors, and was a past member of IOOF Lodge #4.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Mark METZ of Lewiston, Ill.; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Myron METZ of Fairfield; and one sister, Grace BARKER of Davenport.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Rodger; and two infant brothers.

The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, the Rev. Kenneth Royar officiating. Burial will be in Glasgow Cemetery at Glasgow.

Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Behner Funeral Home. Memorials have been established to First United Methodist Church and Jefferson County Hospice.
