Services for Lewis A. "Shorty" LUNBECK, 90, 114 Leffler, West Burlington, former Fairfield resident, who died at 8:20 p.m. Monday at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. William Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends before the funeral from 12:20 to 2 p.m. Memorials have been established to the Eagles Lodge (sic - Aerie/Club) and the American Legion.
LUNBECK was born Jan. 3,1898 at Eldon. He served in the cavalry in World War I and was a retired driver for Lynn Transfer in Fairfield, where he lived until moving to West Burlington in 1970. He was a member of the Fairfield Eagles Lodge, the American Legion and AARP. He married Bessie E. NOTT July 2, 1924 in Fairfield. She died Sept. 22, 1984.
Surviving are a daughter, Donna PEEBLER, a son, Robert, both of West Burlington; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ethel FISCH of Bettendorf; a brother, LeRoy FRAZIER of Kahoka, Mo., nieces and nephews.
